# Changelog

> Product updates and announcements

<Update label="July 2, 2026" description="Documentation">
  **Identity Developer Guides**: Rewrote and restructured the Identity documentation to support all Paxos integration types.

  * **New [Overview](/guides/identity)**: Explains when Identity is required, the Identity → Account → Profile object model, the four-step onboarding flow, and how passthrough IDV works.
  * **New quickstart guides**: [Onboard a Person](/guides/identity/onboard-person) and [Onboard an Institution](/guides/identity/onboard-institution) replace the previous crypto-brokerage-scoped guides. Both stop at identity approval — downstream product setup is covered in the relevant product guides.
  * **New [Identity Lifecycle](/guides/identity/identity-lifecycle)**: Consolidates the former Statuses and Using Status Details guides. Covers `status`, `status_details.requirements` (with `PENDING` vs `FAILED` nuance and `awaiting_action_from` guidance), `active_controls`, sub-statuses (now marked deprecated), webhooks, and migration from deprecated fields.
  * **Gated write scopes**: Clarified that `identity:write_identity` and related write scopes require contacting [Support](https://support.paxos.com) to be enabled.

  Previous URLs redirect to the new pages:

  * `/guides/identity/statuses` → `/guides/identity/identity-lifecycle`
  * `/guides/identity/using-status-details` → `/guides/identity/identity-lifecycle`
  * `/guides/identity/person-crypto-brokerage` → `/guides/identity/onboard-person`
  * `/guides/identity/institution-crypto-brokerage` → `/guides/identity/onboard-institution`
</Update>

<Update label="July 1, 2026" description="Networks">
  **USDG now supported on Robinhood Chain**: Global Dollar (USDG) is live on Robinhood Chain (Arbitrum Orbit L2, chain ID `4663`) for deposits, withdrawals, and transfers. See [USDG on Main Networks](/guides/stablecoin/usdg/mainnet) for token and Supply Control contract addresses and network details, and [Assets and Blockchains](/guides/developer/blockchains) for required confirmations. Cross-chain USDG transfers between Ethereum and Robinhood Chain are available via the LayerZero OFT bridge (EID `30416`).
</Update>

<Update label="July 1, 2026" description="Deprecation">
  **Rewards Engine is now Generally Available; legacy Rewards APIs deprecated**: The [Rewards Engine](/api-reference/endpoints/reward-addresses/overview) API is now Generally Available and no longer in Preview. The legacy [Monitoring Addresses](/api-reference/endpoints/monitoring-addresses/overview), [Statements](/api-reference/endpoints/statements/overview), and [Payments](/api-reference/endpoints/payments/overview) endpoints are deprecated in favor of the Rewards Engine equivalents and will be removed in a future release.
</Update>

<Update label="June 30, 2026" description="v2 API">
  **Travel Rule: VASP directory and metadata fields**: Added the [List VASPs](/api-reference/endpoints/vasps/list-vasps) and [Get VASP](/api-reference/endpoints/vasps/get-vasp) endpoints for looking up receiving institutions, plus new `travelrule_metadata` fields (`beneficiary`, `vasp`, `custodian_type`, `transfer_purpose`) on [Put Crypto Destination Address](/api-reference/endpoints/crypto-destination-addresses/put-crypto-destination-address). See the [Travel Rule developer guide](/guides/travel-rule/index).

  These changes are **additive and non-breaking today** — the fields are accepted and stored but not yet enforced. Above-threshold transfers to addresses without valid Travel Rule metadata will be **enforced starting November 30, 2026**.
</Update>

<Update label="June 30, 2026" description="Deprecation">
  **Orchestrations: crypto destination `address_id` deprecated**: On [Create Orchestration](/api-reference/endpoints/orchestration/create-orchestration) and [Create Orchestration Rule](/api-reference/endpoints/orchestration-rules/create-orchestration-rule), specifying the crypto destination by `address` + `network` is already supported and remains the only supported way going forward. The `crypto_address_id` request field (and `address_id` on responses) is deprecated and will be removed in a future release.
</Update>

<Update label="June 24, 2026" description="v2 API">
  **Identity: Sole Proprietorship Support**: The [Create Identity](/api-reference/endpoints/identity/create-identity) endpoint now supports sole-proprietorship institutions. `SOLE_PROPRIETORSHIP` is available as an institution `type`, and `SOLE_PROPRIETOR` as an institution member role.

  See the new [Sole Proprietorships](/guides/identity/institution-types#sole-proprietorships) section of the Institution Types and Members guide for the onboarding model: a single owner-member holding `SOLE_PROPRIETOR`, supported CIP identification (`SSN` passthrough or `EIN`).
</Update>

<Update label="June 15, 2026" description="Documentation">
  **Identity: Requirements Documentation**: Added new documentation for the `status_details` object, including a new [Using Status Details](/guides/identity/using-status-details) developer guide and an expanded [Statuses](/guides/identity/statuses) guide.

  The `status_details` object on [Get Identity](/api-reference/endpoints/identity/get-identity) and [List Identities](/api-reference/endpoints/identity/list-identities) responses now includes a unified `requirements` array that provides structured detail on what is blocking or pending for an identity. The [`identity_summary_status_change`](/api-reference/events/identity-summary-status-change-object) event object also now includes `status_details`.

  The new documentation covers:

  * Reading `status` and `status_details.active_controls` to understand the current state of an identity
  * Using `requirements` entries with `type`, `status`, and `awaiting_action_from` to determine next steps
  * Guidance on crafting user-facing messaging based on requirement type and status
  * Migration from deprecated sub-status fields (`id_verification_status`, `sanctions_verification_status`, etc.)
</Update>

<Update label="June 11, 2026" description="v2 API">

  **List Markets: Market Status**: The [List Markets](/api-reference/endpoints/market-data/list-markets) endpoint now returns a `market_status` field on each market, providing real-time trading availability, reason codes, and scheduled maintenance windows.

  The `market_status` object includes:

  * `buy_status` / `sell_status` — Trading availability: `AVAILABLE` or `UNAVAILABLE`
  * `buy_reason` / `sell_reason` — Reason a side is unavailable: `SCHEDULED_MAINTENANCE`, `TRADING_SUSPENDED`, or `UNSCHEDULED_MAINTENANCE`

  * The report no longer lists assets in ordered asset order. New order will be `balance_at` time (start time then end time) first, and asset alphabetical second.

  * The report now shows assets as long as there is one transaction that happened in history, even if no transactions in the asset were reported during the reporting period. Previously, assets with balances would show up in the report only if there was a transaction in the reporting period or if the asset was pre-configured to show up in the report regardless of transaction history.

  **v1 API**: Add new schema `IntrabankDepositInstructions` and new field `PaxosBankAccount` to the `GetProfileDepositInstructions` endpoint. `IntrabankDepositInstructions` includes fields `memo_id`, `beneficiary_name` `account_number`, and `type`. `PaxosBankAccount:intrabank` is a generic `IntrabankDepositInstructions` that populates whenever any of the other `intrabank` type fields (for example, `cbit`) are populated (the respective existing fields will also be populated and supported). Future `intrabank` networks will be contained in `intrabank` only. {/* https://itbitwiki.atlassian.net/browse/TFR-1300 https://github.com/paxosglobal/pax/pull/17992 */}

  **v1 API**: `CreateBankAccount` endpoint and `CustomerBankAccount` schema have a new optional field: `IntrabankWithdrawalInstructions`. {/* https://itbitwiki.atlassian.net/browse/TFR-1301 https://github.com/paxosglobal/pax/pull/17642 */}

  * This generalizes the existing intrabank withdrawal instructions into a single field. Clients may specify the new `IntrabankWithdrawalInstructions` (which consist of `beneficiary_name`, `account_number`, and `CustomerBankAccount.Type`) as an alternative to existing network-specific intrabank details (`account_number` can be a wallet address for networks like CBIT).
  * `CustomerBankAccount` will fill in `IntrabankWithdrawalInstructions` IN ADDITION TO the existing intrabank withdrawal instructions in responses. Future intrabank networks will only be supported via `IntrabankWithdrawalInstructions` (as opposed to their own field). The Type field on `IntrabankWithdrawalInstructions` will differentiate the network types.
  * Existing network-specific instructions are deprecated, but will continue to work.
